The carnage that is unfolding in Palestine, is intensifying daily. Aid in every aspect is needed, from food, medicine, clothes and shelter.
Sohail, from the Sutton Coldfield community, would like to raise at least £10,000, by running 100 miles in 30 days, around three miles each day. Use the link below to donate. You can also track his progress by following him on Strava.
On Saturday March 2nd, SCMA hosted a Ramadan Awareness program for new Muslim brothers and sisters. Imam Mustaqeem Sahab delivered a special talk on Ramadan, which was followed by a brief quiz , Q&A and an open discussion. All those who attended were provided with goody bags containing leaflets, an English translation of the Quran, and a packet of Madani dates.
SCMA are aiming to host more sessions for new mulims in the coming months. These dates will be advertised on the website, insha’Allah.

The Qur'an Halaqa will now take place on Wednesdays at 7:45 PM. The aim is to improve our standards of Tajweed. The session is open to all reciters of any standard, even beginners. The class will be taught by Dr. Rami (certified as Mujaz), one the senior Quran teachers at Sutton Coldfield Masjid and an expert in the Science of Tajweed.
The Halaqa is held free of charge and performed online via Google Meet (link below). All age groups are welcome.
The class runs for about an hour depending on attendees. On the day the focus will be on reciting one page of the Qur'an. Each reciter will read half a page. Dr Rami will then correct any Tajweed errors during your recitation. A brief explanation of the page recited (Tafsir) will be given at the end of the class.
A big thank you to all the volunteers during the Iftari provision. There are too many brothers and sisters to name here, but the reason why the Iftari provision was successful was entirely due to everyone involved with many attending throughout the blessed month of Ramadhan.
Many people have kindly given us very positive feedback about the iftari provision and have expressed their thanks to the volunteers. May Allah reward everyone involved and reward them abundantly for their hard work for the benefit of our community.
The 6th of February 2023 saw one of the worst earthquake's recorded, leaving over 50,000 dead. Syria, in particular suffered, with years of civil conflict and international sanctions.
